Trend Alert: Midwestern Hobby

The following steps are quintessential in order to complete this look:

1. Head over to REI, purchase yourself a pair of ski socks, keep them visible scrunched down over a pair of heathered leggings
2. Find a neutral colored crossbody bag with a weathered look or down and dirty vibe (UGG, Fossil, Lucky)
3. Borrow (or steal) your boyfriend's classic plaid button down shirt, preferably in reds/browns/navy, but any will do
4. Find a rabbit fur Davey Crockett hat, and put it on your head
5. Oh and for the feet just do snow boots or a menswear inspired hipster suede shoe
6. Add some bright lipstick to spice it up, just to throw the whole thing off a little

Hemlines Plunge...For the Younger Crowd

Photos from Style.com

In the days of the miniskirt, (not the 70's, but the present I am speaking of) it is shocking to think maybe hemlines are ready to take the plunge. The booty-shaking shortness of our skirts and oh-so-cute shorts are not gone for good, but beware of the lengths that stand in our future. Beware only if you dare. For the younger hip crowd out there, no matter how far the hemlines drop it may add quite the dramatic change to our wardrobe. However, I'm in for it as long as I can test out some of Oscar de la Renta's longer styled feminine winter coats and skirts. Fashion has seen hemlines hit low, even to the ground in recent Spring/Summer seasons, but this will be a semi new trend for the upcoming Fall. Anything at the length acceptable in Catholic School is a length new and worth a try, at least for the Catholic school girl herself!

The Row

Pretty simple, yet elegant. Following the trends, completely black and blue with the slightest hint of white and brown in the accessories. Congratulations to MKA for reaching success as celebrity fashion designers. Now if I could just get those flowers in the background at my wedding some day. AFFORDABLE FIND

Here is an affordable find that will catch the attention of a passerby or possibly a stray cat or two. The polished bells dangling amongst the many strands of chain are sure to jingle as you walk. This necklace is a conversation starter to say the least. Crafty is in and so are pom poms! Shop at Forever 21 for only $7.80.

Anna Sui: A Medley of Awesomeness

Every season Anna Sui redefines eclectic style with her fresh mish-mash of prints. This Fall's 2010 collection came up nothing short of the past. A look into the American Arts and Crafts movement and Art Nouveau inspired line, brings a smile to my face and an urge to go shopping! The intricacy of swirling shell patterns and paisleys in combination with plaid, animal, and ditsy geometric borders make a girl go crazy. I am going gaga over the knee printed tights, embroidered hex style birds, and stained glass Nouveau silk printed blouses. And ladies, it's time to trade in your fair isle sweater for a knit that shows a full landscape view. Sweater with cardigan to match. Pictures from Style.com.
